Super results for Rathmines Players UPDATE

IRISH TEAM SELECTION

The Irish Chess Union has announced the Junior Irish International Team for this year’s Glorney Cup competitions, which will take place in Daventry, England, from the 17th to 20th July.

Rathmines Junior Chess Club would like to congratulate all those who are selected, including six members of the Rathmines Junior Chess Club

 

Scott Mulligan has been selected on the U-18 Glorney Cup team alongside Tom O Gorman, Luke Scott, Ross Beatty and former Rathmines player Henry Li.

 

Mustakim Ul Haque and Sean Hunter have both been selected for the u14 Robinson Cup team, joining Alex Byrne, Josh Redmond, Gavin Melaugh and Denis RuchO. Matthew Gallagher is first reserve

 

Muhtarim Ul Haque , Utkarsh Gupta and Sanjay Menon have been selected for the U12 Stokes cup team, alongside Danny Dwyer, James Naughton, David Remenyik and Adam Murphy. Felix Jordan is first reserve.

 

The Gilbert U18 ladies team will consist of Alice O Gorman, Mercedes Plaza Reino and Anastasija Manojlovic.

ENNIS CONGRESS

Utkarsh Gupta achieved 2nd place in the u1400 event in Ennis Congress scoring 4 wins and 2 draws

Over the first three rounds the following players have been placed in the top 4 and won Grand Prix Points

Sanjay Menon won the Minor Section with a score of 5.5 / 6 A very impressive performance from Sanjay who played three of his games on the live boards as he led throughout the event.

Eoin Hunter scored 3.5 pts and Liam Hunter and Liam O’Laoide scored 3pts

Muhtarim-Ul Haque won the Major Section with 5.5 / 6. Matthew Gallagher scored 3pts , Sean Hunter scored 2.5 pts Utkarsh Gupta and Felix Jordan scored 2pts,

 

Good luck to the Rathmines team tonight in the O’Sullivan Cup Semi-final v Bray taking place in the senior club
